Becareful torrentian sekalian!

Most of us turn on our computer 24/7, we go to isohunt, torrentspy, torrentmalaya and so on. Using torrent client like Bitcomet, utorrent, bitlord, bittorrent and etc. But be careful fellow 'torrenter'. I come across this and it seems like our ‘friendly’ Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry will be cracking down on such activities pretty soon. Considering that pirated software vendors have are almost non-existent in our regular IT centres, it’s not really surprising that downloaders were next on the list.

According to the report from The Star, If you download material illegally from the Internet, you can be fined a minimum of RM250,000 while the maximum fine is RM500,000. Actually this penalty was legislated more than 10 years ago under the Copyright Act, but it has yet to be fully enforced.

According to Deputy Minister Datuk S. Veerasingam, cracking down on Internet download offenders was also gaining momentum. If the government is start to get serious about it, we might start hearing the first charges to be filed against downloaders in the next couple of months. It’ll be interesting to see what happens then

Demonid tracker is back

P2P SITE , Demonoid is up and running after shutting itself down following a threat the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) to club it to death in the courts.

This morning the site was up, but broken, apparently while it made repairs.

It is still being hosted by a Canadian ISP, but is blocking all Canadian traffic to avoid trouble with the CRIA.

The Demonoid homepage said it had received a letter from a lawyer representing the CRIA, they were threatening with legal action and it need to start blocking Canadian traffic.

The site is already a refugee from Sweden and is using the same self preservation technique developed by Isohunt and TorrentSpy which blocked access to US users to avoid complaints from the RIAA.

However adapting the site so it only accepts non-Canadians seems to have sent the forums and main page into disarray for a while. The administrators at the site say it will take a few days to recover completely.

Then lepas tu bukak lagi satu tab dan buka alamat torrent site yang legal macam http://www.bittorrent.com . Cari la bende-bende torrent yang free untuk di download macam mp3, HD tv series, games apa-apa aje lah.



Lepas dah jumpa torrent yang kita minat tu klik pada link dia. then dah sampai
nak download .torrent tu just tekan copy link location dan paste pada bar di bitlet.org tu.



So bukak balik tab bitlet.org tu dan paste link tadi. Lepas tu satu popup akan muncul seperti di bawah. Time tu bitlet.org sedang request virtual machine supaya leh run kat pc korang.



Bila semua lancar dia akan tanya nak run ke tidak application diorang (bitlet nyer la) so klik Run
untuk membenarkan.



Ni pula windows untuk save file torrent tu. letak kat tempat yang kosong dalam Harddisk tu. :D



Lepas dah selesai semuanya, korang akan nampak percent download torrent tue. So far download speed amatlah puas hati... so selamat mencuba



** Bitlet.org ni support macam client torrent so maknanya korang boleh download, seed balik kalau dah siap (asalkan tetingkap tidak dimatikan), resume download kalau korang nk off pc pastu support download luar negara tanpa sebarang sekatan dari ISP... yahoooo!!

Cara setting Proxomitron

Okeh, bagi pengguna p2p terutama torrent kat malaysia sekarang ni memang nazak. Nazak bukan apa nazak sebab nak download pun speed slow nak mampus dan tracker offline, takpun status tracker 'Connection Closed By Peer'. So download dan upload tak gerak-gerak.

Jadi aku nak mengajar cara nak bypass supaya client torrent boleh connect balik dengan tracker. Ia berkesan cubelah :P

Download Proxomitron dan Setting
1. Download dulu software proxomitron nih.
2. Install macam biasa, lepas tu run proxomitron
3. Klik pada header

4. Klik New

5. Masukkan pada HTTP Header: User-Agent: Screamyx (out), URL Match(kosongkan), Header Value Match: *, Replacement text: Mozilla 2.0/TM Slow. Tekan OK

6. Klik pada custom user agent yang kita buat tadi pada out supaya bertanda dan klik apply lepas tu klik OK.

7. Klik pada Config -> HTTP -> Proxomitron`s proxy port number 3128, klik OK


8. Save setting Klik pada disket warna hijau


Setting pada client uTorrent 1.7.1
1. Option, Preferences, Connection
2. Proxy Server, Type: HTTP, Proxy: localhost, Port:3128
3. Klik Ok
4. Cuba update tracker balik pada client uTorrent.

How to Increase download speed of uTorrent

recently I noticed my download speed so slow so I decided to tweak my uTorrent and internet settings.Here`s what I`ve done to my uTorrent 1.71 client:


Firstly, go to Option-> Speed Guide
1.Select your speed at connection type, for example I select xx/1Mbit for my connection.
2.Then CHECKED at Enable encryption then click Use Selected Settings.




Options>Preferences>Connection
1.Under ‘Port used for incomming connections‘ enter any port number. It is best to use a port number above 10000. I use 11050.
2.Randomize port each time µtorrent starts: UNCHECKED, I leave this unchecked because I have a router and I do port fowarding for port above.
3.Enable UPnP port mapping (Windows Xp or later only): CHECKED
4.Enable NAT-PMP port mapping: CHECKED

5.Add µtorrent to Windows Firewall exceptions (Windows XP SP2 or later only): UNCHECKED (do this only if you have windows firewall disabled)
6.Global Maximum upload rate (kb/s): [0: unlimited]: 92 (for 1Mbit connection)


Options>Preferences>BitTorrent
1.Global Maximum Number of Connections: 400 (for 1Mbit connection)This number should not be set too low or the number of connections made to your torrents will be limited. Setting it too high may cause too much bandwidth to be used and can cause slowdowns.
2.Maximum Number of connected peers per torrent: 100 (for 1Mbit connection)If you see that the peers connected to a specific torrent are exactly this number, or very close, increase this number to improve speeds.
3.Number of upload slots per torrent: 3 This depends on how much you want to upload to other users. Do not set too low or it may affect download speeds.
4.Use additional upload slots if upload speed

Options>Preferences>Advanced
1.Firstly u must download TCP/IP patcher using LvlLord’s Event ID 4226 Patcher and TZ Connection Booster | Mirror
2.DO NOT CHANGE THIS OPTION unless you have Windows XP SP2 and have patched tcpip.sys.
3.Change the number to 60
4.net.max_halfopen: 60 , set and apply

How BitTorrent Works

BitTorrent is a protocol that enables fast downloading of large files using minimum Internet bandwidth. It costs nothing to use and includes no spyware or pop-up advertising.

Unlike other download methods, BitTorrent maximizes transfer speed by gathering pieces of the file you want and downloading these pieces simultaneously from people who already have them. This process makes popular and very large files, such as videos and television programs, download much faster than is possible with other protocols.

In this article, we'll examine how BitTorrent works and how it is different from other file-distribution methods. In addition, you'll learn how to use BitTorrent and what the future might hold for this innovative approach to serving files over the Internet.

BitTorrent Speak Like most Internet phenomena, BitTorrent has its own jargon. Some of the more
common terms related to BitTorrent include:

• Leeches - People who download files but do not share files on their own computer with others
• Seed or seeder - A computer with a complete copy of a BitTorrent file (At least one seed computer is necessary for a BitTorrent download to operate.)
• Swarm - A group of computers simultaneously sending (uploading) or receiving (downloading) the same file
• .torrent - A pointer file that directs your computer to the file you want to download
• Tracker - A server that manages the BitTorrent file-transfer process

Traditional Client-Server Downloading
To understand how BitTorrent works and why it is different from other file-serving methods, let's examine what happens when you download a file from a Web site. It works something like this:

• You open a Web page and click a link to download a file to your computer.
• The Web browser software on your computer (the client) tells the server (a central computer that holds the Web page and the file you want to download) to transfer a copy of the file to your computer.
• The transfer is handled by a protocol (a set of rules), such as FTP (File Transfer Protocol) or HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol).

Client-server download process

The transfer speed is affected by a number of variables, including the type of protocol, the amount of traffic on the server and the number of other computers that are downloading the file. If the file is both large and popular, the demands on the server are great, and the download will be slow.

Peer-To-Peer File Sharing
Another file-transfer method that you may have heard about is called peer-to-peer file sharing. In this process, you use a software program (rather than your Web browser) to locate computers that have the file you want. Because these are ordinary computers like yours, as opposed to servers, they are called peers. The process works like this:

• You run peer-to-peer file-sharing software (for example, a Gnutella program) on your computer and send out a request for the file you want to download.
• To locate the file, the software queries other computers that are connected to the Internet and running the file-sharing software.
• When the software finds a computer that has the file you want on its hard drive, the download begins.
• Others using the file-sharing software can obtain files they want from your computer's hard drive.

The file-transfer load is distributed between the computers exchanging files, but file searches and transfers from your computer to others can cause bottlenecks. Some people download files and immediately disconnect without allowing others to obtain files from their system, which is called leeching. This limits the number of computers the software can search for the requested file.

What BitTorrent Does
Unlike some other peer-to-peer downloading methods, BitTorrent is a protocol that offloads some of the file tracking work to a central server (called a tracker). Another difference is that it uses a principal called tit-for-tat. This means that in order to receive files, you have to give them. This solves the problem of leeching -- one of developer Bram Cohen's primary goals. With BitTorrent, the more files you share with others, the faster your downloads are. Finally, to make better use of available Internet bandwidth (the pipeline for data transmission), BitTorrent downloads different pieces of the file you want simultaneously from multiple computers.

Here's how it works:

BitTorrent's peer-to-peer download process

• You open a Web page and click on a link for the file you want.
• BitTorrent client software communicates with a tracker to find other computers running BitTorrent that have the complete file (seed computers) and those with a portion of the file (peers that are usually in the process of downloading the file).
• The tracker identifies the swarm, which is the connected computers that have all of or a portion of the file and are in the process of sending or receiving it.
• The tracker helps the client software trade pieces of the file you want with other computers in the swarm. Your computer receives multiple pieces of the file simultaneously.
• If you continue to run the BitTorrent client software after your download is complete, others can receive .torrent files from your computer; your future download rates improve because you are ranked higher in the "tit-for-tat" system.

Downloading pieces of the file at the same time helps solve a common problem with other peer-to-peer download methods: Peers upload at a much slower rate than they download. By downloading multiple pieces at the same time, the overall speed is greatly improved. The more computers involved in the swarm, the faster the file transfer occurs because there are more sources of each piece of the file. For this reason, BitTorrent is especially useful for large, popular files.
