Buy a new wireless for home

Yesterday I went to lowyat plaza,KL to buy new wireless access point. Before this I used Linksys WAP11 (11Mb very old model ones) and the performance is quite good but it often disconnect when lot user enter it. Recently that Linksys got problem with its power adapter. That the main reason for upgrading new one which is Aztech DSL605EW, the good for this wireless+modem+router is, it have ADSL2/2+ Ready Wireless LAN 802.11g 4 Port Ethernet and a good security for both wired and wireless.

The web-based setup also very user friendly and I need to read a help instruction at below of the menu to configure. The security is provided via a double Stateful Packet Inspection and NAT based firewall and Hardware accelerated AES/WEP/WPA based encryption/MAC Address Filtering for Wireless links. VPN Passthrough and DMZ support provide additional security support for telecommuters as well as allow flexibility while maintaining security against malicious hackers.

I also configure a port triggering for my bittorrent application which is more simple than port forwarding. Port triggering is a specialized form of port fowarding it enables computers behind NAT to be accessed.

So I realy 'puas hati' and happy with this model and for the price RM17x. For home networking or SOHO you should get this..hehe.. anyway thanks for reading. see u next time

I'am a fan of Grand Theft Auto series. I played the series since it release at Playstation Console. This year this series will release in this April. I sure will buy the game when it hit store.

Asteroid TU24 Jan 29 2008

Don't forget to look-look up the sky today. The Asteroid TU24 will be as close to Earth and I hope it don't impact the Earth else we will be fate as the Dinasour. It has been in 2,000 years and it wont get any closer in this century. The asteroid diameter around 800 feet and it can make serious damage IF get touch to ground.

The rock was first discovered late last year. NASA scientists have since captured radar images that enabled them to estimate its size and shape, but they’ll be training more precise instruments on the rock this week. Tomorrow night, at around 3:33 AM Eastern time, it will be within 334,000 miles of Earth—not much farther away than our own Moon.

Useful terminal command linux

Its been a long time I not write anything in this blog. Yes, ive been busy with work and at home I don't have an internet connection (3.5G or streamyx). Today I want to share a bit useful command in linux.


Show some computer stats

lspci

Access a dictionary through terminal (must have a working internet connection)
Note: Replace ‘word’ with whatever you’d like to search for (without quotes)

curl dict://dict.org/d:word

Check system temperature and battery charge

acpi -t

See a list of all running processes

ps aux

View the current time, date, and year

date

Show a simple calendar

cal

See what programs are running with the path names

ps -aux

See your current IP address

ifconfig -a

See what your system is doing at startup

dmesg

Show information about the computer users

finger -l

Show current Ubuntu version

cat /etc/issue

System Recovery

Backup xorg.conf

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup

Replace current xorg.conf with a previously made backup

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf_backup /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Delete auto xorg.conf backups

sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf.2007*

Use nano to edit xorg.conf (works in “terminal-only” mode)

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

My desktop

This is my new laptop's Compaq C738TU interface screenshot. I should put this post below the Windows XP SP3 below because it no longer can used after I install update to Service Pack 3. So enjoy it.

Windows XP SP3

Yeah I know about SP3 since December last year but I decide not to try it Yet, until today I downloaded the standalone update windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe from microsoft update website. Yes the download need to verify my XP genuine or not. After finished verified and downloaded the 336.1MB files. It still release candidate so expect some bugs.

New laptop for me C738

last Thursday I went to Lowyat Plaza to see see gadget there. Then I bought new laptop Compaq C738 which I think cheap and the spec not so bad. So after installing OS, softwares, drivers, and doing some tweak there the laptop performance run smoothly on Intel Processor. Also the screen so wide, 15.4 inch wide hi-definition display so that you can see a lot of movies, video clip, youtube video and of course Playing games; but not video chua soi lek ok. that dangerous, believe me.

I also top up laptop with 1GB ram so that It no longer hungry for ram. Ram nowdays so cheap. Now i want to install vista skin so my xp looks like vista... hehe.

Today after maghrib we will go for new year for hijrah calendar. So welcome 1429H and goodbye 1428H. May Allah always bless us and may this year give us strength to survive in this world.

Bahang pilihanraya kian terasa

Well i must say that Malaysian general election will be around the corner, maybe during school holiday. According to election commisison chairman, Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman that he not joking that the general election is around the corner. For the example right now, leave for police officer was frozen in order to prepare for coming election. Also Umno Selangor have been 'olok2' doing election simulation with their party members.

SO people, be prepared and please vote the right person and right party because its time to change.

Adverlets domain expired

WTF.... i thought my pc been attack by spyware/malware.... Adverlets domain have been expired which couse every website/blog that include their ads will redirect to another page.

For temporary solution is removing adverlets code from your blogger template. Then the problem settle.
